January Favourites

Monday, 29 January 2018

Shall we get straight into my first favourites of 2018? There's only one answer... 😜

I actually have quite a lot of faves this month but I'm only going to show you 5 as most of them are old faves, they just happen to be enjoyed this month as well, so for the reason of not making you bored and fall asleep, I think 5 is good.

I brought back a lot of Japanese and Korean skincare products from my Asia trip last summer but there's one product that really saved my skin as well as my daughter's, and I have been hooked ever since. It's the Horse Oil Cream and the Japanese believe that this is the ultimate hydrating product for all skin types and you can even use it on kids. The one I have is from the pharmacy I think and it's infused with horse oil of course, herbs and other natural ingredients. Now I don't read Japanese but my friend who does have told me that this is a great one as it's all natural and very nourishing.

It has a thin and kind of siliconey texture that sinks in instantly. I think this is a great one for oily skin peeps as it gives a velvety matte finish. My daughter had a fever a few weeks back and it made her skin red, raw and patchy so I tried it on her and it made her skin smooth again in just a few days. This is seriously some good stuff so if you can get your hands on one of these, I promise you are gonna love it.

If you sweat as much as I do even in the winter, you have got to try this Schmidt's Bergamot + Lime Natural Deodorant. I love the scent, the way it makes my skin feel and I love that it's all natural. It's a cream deodorant but it looks a little powdery now because of the cold weather, but you just need to warm up a little with your fingers before applying under your arms. I've noticed that it keeps my sweat at bay, it makes my armpits smooth, although I don't think it's gonna do much in the summer because I'm one of those sweaty ones on the planet. 🤭 But for now, it's working and I like it.

I don't know about you guys but here in Sicily, the flu season is really bad this year. If you catch it, it will not leave you alone for as long as a month perhaps even longer and I'm talking about me. Also I hate taking medicine so what I have been doing is drink lots of fluids and that includes hot water with lemon and this delicious raw organic honey with turmeric.

Turmeric is known for its powerful medicinal properties and it's really good for metabolism as well, and by mixing it with honey, lemon and hot water, it is rather effective when it comes to combat with cold and flu. I take 1 teaspoon of it, 1 slice of lemon into a glass of hot water for twice a day and I've never felt better.

The last 2 faves are makeup. Unfortunately, they are not all natural makeup but I've loved both of them as they just work. Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips is without a doubt, one of the best liquid lipsticks I've tried. It gives a smooth finish, it doesn't dry my lips and it's so lightweight. I love that rather small applicator which gives precise application. I have the shade of Show Girl and it's a beautiful mauve for everyday use during winter months. I have been using it non-stop and I adore that I can make it sheer or really go to town with it.

(such a nice mauve for any occasions)

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow (Bronzed Bell) is one of those products that I thought I didn't need but it turned out to be my absolute essential especially for when I'm going out or any special occasions really. It just makes my eyes pop, and for a glitter eye product, it's done beautifully. It glides on effortlessly and stays put all day. It has no fallout and this bronzey shade is so pretty and would look good on all skin tones. Sometimes when I'm lazy, I just use a small eyeliner brush and line my eyes with it. It's chic and so easy to do. I love it and I think I might need more shades.

So there you have it, my Jan Faves, nice and short, spot any of your faves?
