The 7 Skin Method

Tuesday, 13 February 2018

I feel like Korean skincare products are taking the world lately, I mean they are cute, they work and they are just on trend. And speaking of trendy skincare, have you ever heard of the 7 Skin Method? It's from Korea dahhh, and it's very popular in the beauty world so today, I want to share with you my experience with the 7 skin method, and hopefully, it'll amp up your skincare arsenal.

The 7 skin method is a skincare method that allows you to get hydrated and glowy skin by patting 7 times of your favourite toners/essences on your skin before your serums, oils and moisturisers. It might sound like a lot of work but I promise you it's not and it's worth it.

Now the trick is to use a toner or essence that is quite "thick" (texture-wise), and you want to pat your entire face with it then use whatever is left on your neck and repeat for 7 times. You can start with just 3 layers and then the rest of your skincare routine for as long as you like until you are used to it, and when you are ready you can move onto the full 7 layers.

The essence I'm using with this method is the Vital Treatment Pulp Essence - 8 Nourishing Beans by Blithe. This is a luxury Korean skincare brand that does brilliant essences and masks. This particular essence is infused with 8 different bean extracts to deeply nourish and hydrate the skin. There's also Vitamin E in it which are the "pulp" parts so as soon as you pat it on your skin, the "pulps" burst and release the nourishing goodness into the bean extracts and the two work perfectly together to plump and revitalise the skin.

It has a runny texture, not sticky like essences can be, perfect consistency and it has a non-detectable scent to it. This is a perfect essence to use for the 7 skin method because it's hydrating and it doesn't make the skin too tacky after.

I tried it with 3 layers at the beginning and it made my skin glowy, healthy and hydrated and I felt like I didn't even need to follow the rest 4 layers, but that being said, 7 layers is another level, it makes my skin so nourished and so glowy, and honestly, if you have normal to oily skin, you don't even need a moisturiser afterwards. I usually use 4-5 drops of an oil-based serum after my essence, but after the 7 skin method, I only need 2-3 drops, seriously it is that effective, so if you have dry skin, the 7 skin method is a must. IT WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOUR SKIN LOOKS.

(freshly washed face)

(1 layer)

(3 layers)

(7 layers)

(topped with the rest of my routine, just an oil, no moisturizer as my skin really didn't need it after 7 layers of the essence)

(full face makeup after my skincare routine)

With the Vital Treatment Essence, you only need a pea size amount for each layer so a little goes a long way. It comes with a sturdy yet elegant plastic bottle of 150ml. It retails for £41 but it's worth every penny in my opinion.

Do yourselves a favour and try the 7 skin method and see the difference in your skin.
